    Default Arrow 2 Spindle Chiller

Our Arrow 2 1250 has the 10K RPM spindle option. It does have a glycol heat exchanger for the spindle on the back of the machine but it's just a heat sink, no active phase change cooling like a chiller. We've measured spindle growth at 0.002" after running at max RPM for 30 minutes. Fives Cincinnati has confirmed this to be typical.

Has anyone tried attaching a stand alone process chiller to their machine to control spindle growth?

    Thanks for looking.

All the older Arrows and Sabres had a chiller on the 10K spindles that worked fine once set up properly. Biggest issue I can remember is a lot of shops had the chiller temp set too low which caused excessive condensation in the spindle.
