Default Issue with tool umbrella Cincinnati Arrow 500

I have a 1997 Arrow 500, the umbrella is in the spindle position, and when trying to start up the mill, the relays pull in but release within a couple seconds, with the main machine stating "machine not powered" . I cannot do anything, the pendant shows the umbrella in spindle lit. I tried pushing the unbrella back, but it must be under air pressure or it has a powerful spring, I cannot get it to the park position. Any suggestions?

New to machine, I hit the tool charger button without z being all the way up. Unbrella hit bottom of single, I raised up to top, but then restarted machine

Hopefully, someone with personal knowledge of the your type Tool Changer will chime in on How to reset to Park Positon.....One thing you can do is PowerDown the Machine completely "MAIN POWER"....and look for Hand Crank or something inside the Tool Changer to manually move the Unit...

The unit is comprises of a lever driven through a Electric motor and gear box.
Rotation of the lever causes the roller box carrying the
Tool Storage Drum to move along a linear track either to the spindle
(DRUM TO SPINDLE) or away from the spindle (DRUM TO PARK).

I got the unbrella to go to park by disconnecting air hose, and swinging it back. I am pretty confident that my Z is at it's upper limit position, preventing the contactors from staying powered, is there a way to get the z to move down a half inch? It will not work from pendant buttons.. any help appreciated!

    Oh, good.

Try this to fix OT........Turn the Ball Screw by hand pass the normal TC position (Z0) or try Holding in the green button to bypasses the overtravel section of the E-stop circuitry which will allow you to hold the button in and jog the axis away from the limit and off of the switch.

When it says Machine is not powered, one of the axes is probably sitting on limit switch, to apply power to move off limit follow the below instructions.
Hopefully I saved some newbie like me to 1997 vintage Cincinnati Mills the headaches I went thru!

FINALLY, here is the magic solution

1- Turn on Power to mill
2- Press green on button once (keyboards lights goe on if few secs)
3- After programs ar all loaded, turn off ESTOP
4- On Pendant press Data Reset
5- Press in and HOLD Green Power button (not green one on pendant)
6- After you hear motors on, KEEPING GREEN BUTTON DEPRESSED, select the button above the DIAL on pendant, it should light up, select the axis that has over traveled, and turn dial VERY SLOW, but MAKE SURE you are going the correct direction or you could damage machine!! drive in and inch and you should be able to let go of power button and start alignment (press ALIGN, it should light, then press & hold F1, antil all axes have moved.
7-You need to make sure #1 tool holder is in line with the spindle.

    Hello there ,
I just got one of those Cincinnati Sabre 500 it has acramatic 850sx control
So we just bought the machine 1 week ago we just got it hooked up to power so after I hit Align and I got all axis Aligned ( Homed ) I tried to call in MDI T# The umbrella went to the tool change position and then instead of changing tool ( there was no tools in the umbrella) it went down on Z - and it gave me Z exceed alarm I looked around doesn’t seem like it’s touching anything and then it Says Retract Z after I hit reset
( I didn’t know how to do that so I just jog up ) and then it says that I have to home the umbrella I didn’t know how to do that either, so if you can help me solve this problem I will really appreciate it and I need to know how to manually index tools on this thing so I can be in number 1 when I home it as well. I’m new to this machine I know nothing about it and like I said we just got it like a week ago even the controller is new to me , Thanks for your help in Advance!!

On the 850SX VMC to Mechanically Jog the Tool Drum; Select 'MDI' > Select 'MECH JOG'; then choose: 'JOG DECR' or 'JOG INCR' or 'DRM/PARK' or 'DRM/SPDL' or 'SPDLE CW' ETC...
