Your "cheap motion board" is probably fried. You can get another one and see how long it lasts this time, or try to find something better, which hopefully would last longer.
I've had my machine for about 6 months; been pretty happy with it for the most part. A couple days ago, I fired it up after not having used it for several weeks, but I couldn't get any movement out of the gantry when I tried to jog it. I was able to run the spindle, so I figured the problem was with Mach3. After a few more unsuccessful attempts, I decided to reinstall the software.
That didn't solve the problem, so now I'm back to thinking that it's the machine. After opening it up, I realized that the spindle runs independently of the cheap motion board, so I suspect that board, but I don't have a clue as to how to definitively diagnose it. Can anyone assist me with this? Thanks.
