Syntec 6MB error messages:1 NC Program L7 exceeds software or hardware limit etc.

Regarding Syntec 6MB I am having difficulty with error messages. Have anyone come across a "Coordinate 40 1 NC Program L7 exceeds software or hardware limit" error before? It accompanies a "Motion 18 Z Axis First Negative software limit exceeded" error. The latter, I believe can be fixed by MPG-ing with F3 held depressed, although the alarm (both of these, actually) occur when the spindle is well below the limit switch at top of allowable Z travel. I'm guessing the machine will be fine once knowledge of how this is set straight is found.
