Default New to the Forum, Looking for some help with my 3018 CNC

    Hello all,
I'm new to the forums and I am having issues with my 3018 CNC machine. I'm currently using Candle 1.1.7 to run it. My issue lies when trying to move all the axis, the machine hesitates.

Here is a video of what i am talking about:

I tried 2 different boards as i have 2 for this machine. It does the same thing from the PC and also from the stand alone controller. If its not the boards. what could it be. my spindle is controlled from a separate power supply and controller, so its not controlled by the board.

worked fine about 3 months ago but now its doing this. any help or input would be great. Thanks in advance.

    Hello.

First of all I´d suggest you check your power supply. It appears as if for every movement the voltage diminishes and the motors need to wait until power is fully restored.

Try doing a circle and a square some 8 inches in size and measure looking for discrepancies and distortions. That is to see how well your motion controller is dealing with that problem.

    Post your results if possible.

    Regards.

thank you BBMNet, I left it on all night and it seems to be working fine. It must be the power supply. I just ordered another and should have it by tomorrow. Ill see if that does the trick.

    Thanks for your help.
