The dirvers that came with my X61500GT CNC Router work quitte well. The only thing I don't like are the JST conectors they use for the wiring.
I'm thinking I may fit some screw connectors like the better quality drivers use.
This came about from noticing the small black connectors on the motrs are getting quite warm, during use.
This means that there are I²R losses and the connector and not something I want.
After there are replaced, the driver connectors are the next weak link.Should be relatively easy.
I've checked the pitches of the connectors ( as best I can ) and they are different and appear to be 3.81mm and 2.5 or 2.54mm.( hard to be sure at this stage.)
I'm looking at options now.
Has anyone done the same mod?
Seems a cheaper and easier upgrade as opposed to buying new drivers when these work fine.
I got the connectors off. I had to slide the housing off the pins in order to remove each pin on its own. Was too hard to release all 4 pins at once and I didn't want to damage the PCB.
Was looking for replacements, but couldn't find any suit with the smaller pitch ( 2.5mm )
Then I noticed the second set of holes behind both connectors......
They mirror the front holes( checked with DVM ) and are spaced at 5.08mm, so that makes it easy to find replacements.
I ordered two different types of Ebay, to see which will work best. I may have to trim the plastic cover so I can get to the screws, but thats not a problem.
It may be a bit of work but it soothes my OCD....lol
