    Default CNC 3040T Stepper MOTOR REPLACEMENT

    HI THERE ALL!

    I'm new in the CNC Machining WOrld And started Being interesested In that cause i need to engrave pet tags and id tags for mailboxes;

    I have one "noise" is in the x axis and comes from the stepper motor.(when i replace the stepper from the other axis works fine) The axis was bended and it was forcing the stepper damaging it... it still works but makes noise.

    In the stepper says "Anchuan Motor 57HD0401 - 15SB 1.8 2.0A N1801"

    Any Ideas For a replacement!?

    If the noise is coming from the bearings, they are pretty easy to change.
    Pull the end covers off and have a look. You just need to be careful refitting teh new bearings.
    Easier than buying another motor.

    HI Sterob;

    Do you mean the bearing from the stepper motor?

    The noise comes from the stepper for sure, i just don't know if i can buy new stepper on ebay cause all i can find have 3 amps and mine has 2 amp... I'm afraid of burning something.

    Best regards

    Yes, the bearings in the motor.
    Easy to change them.
    Pull the motor apart and spin the bearings by hand. If they are noisy, change them.

    You can but you will need to re-configure your driver so it can supply the same current as the motor is rated to.

    Hi Fokyou - You can use a 3A motor in place of the 2A motor. But it will only draw what the driver can supply. So the 3A motor will be supplied with 2A from the existing driver. So although the 3A motor will have more torque capability it will only produce 2/3rds the torque it could produce with a bigger driver. You will not damage the driver or the 3A motor...

    You say the axis is bent. Do you mean the linear axis or the motor shaft? Peter

    I don't think replacing the bearings is a better choice than motor.

    Stepperr motors are only 7 quid on ebay its a no brainer.
    i changed my old motors so if you want a set of motors i have a set here never realy been run just sat in the machine for 7 years lol
    i bought new uprated 4.2 Amp nema23s and a nema17 with the 1.9 up rated coil set (about and inch longer than stock to ensure lastability for future mods)
    total cost was 32 quid posted quick
    a cheap upgrade.

    pm me if you want the motors i have - also got a spare control box first issue and a new 600 watt spindle drive dc with PWM speed controller if interested - all good up grades and cheap if interested.

    Chris .
