Default CNC3040 Z axis not working right

I recently bought a ebay special CNC3040 3 axis router. Everything is working on it, except when I hit the page up key to make the z axis go up, it goes down instead. I hit the page down key it still goes down. I'm using the PlanetCNC driver/ usb cnc programs.

I've checked everything I can think of.
    Any Ideas???

Do you have a different keyboard you can plug in?Its an easy way to eliminate one component from the question of what is going wrong. If switching keyboards doesn't work, you may have a problem within the controller box, such as a hair sized tail of solder sending a current to an adjoining contact.

Check your motor wiring. You may have a loose motor wire.
Plug motor into a different Driver and see what the fault does.( disappears....changes...stays the same ) You may be able to narrow down the fault possibilities.

I've tried a different keyboard and even a different computer. Same result, not working right.

I'll try swapping the motors around and see what the result is next.

I've tried swapping the motors around, the z axis motor works right when I plug it into the x axis plug.

I plugged it back into the z axis, still only goes down.

Check your wiring between your Motion Board and your z axis driver.
Give each one a little tug to make sure its solid connection.
Also check every terminal for tightness.
Lets us know how you go.

It Sounds like your software settings have the Z motor direction set the same for up and down. You should be able to check in the motor direction properties in whatever software you are using.

I have checked the setting and don't see anything about motor direction... The software I'm using is PlanetCNC's CNC USB Controller.

It might be time to open her up and do some checks....if you don't mind voiding your warranty.
My guess is the wiring beween the Motion card and Driver OR Driver and Stepper.
