Chinese 3018 cnc from Aliexpress - Laser and Spindle Issue

Hi All,

New to the forum and wondering if anyone here can guide me in the right direction.

Just purchased a 3018 cnc machine off Aliexpress with a 5.5w Laser.
Everytime I flick the power switch on the Crono Controller board, the spindle or Laser, which ever is connected starts all full power.

The seller sent me a second board to try out and it does the same thing.

I flashed the first control board with grbl 1.1 and the second board is still loaded with 0.9.

Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with different hardware and software. The PWM output pin from the controller/breakout board was defaulting to full power on boot. Ended up changing the firmware slightly so that pin on the micro defaulted to whatever the laser driver board needed to be off. Sorry, don't know GRBL so couldn't tell you where to find that.

I think you can edit the GRBL startup script and put an M05 in there. Have a look at the documentation here: https://github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki/Grbl-v1.1-Commands

M5 is already in the start up gcode parser. I'll also tried switching to m3 and m4. Some issue, laser pins have a consistent 11.6v and the motor/spindle pins 23.6v.

The control boards are 4-axis Cronos grbl control boards made by Lunyee (Lunyee) (its printed on the back of the board). Board does have PWM control pins, but the 5.5w laser that comes with the machine doesn't use PWM.

I had the same problem on my Sainsmart MX3 machine. There was a pushbutton on the laser supply module, and this turns it on as soon as power is connected to it.

cronosmaker v:1.90
the spindle starts the power up
the laser on the output ttl/12/gnd
works but I think the command
power does not work
s0 or s1000
is there a schematic of this map
