    Default Problem With Motors

Hello, this is my first post here; hope I'm doing it right.I have a HY-6040 5-axis machine (but only using 3 while I get my head around this CNC stuff). When the machine first arrived I could move in all 3 axes using the blue keypad device.Sometime later the axes would not move!Later still I hooked the machine up to Mach3.Still no luck getting the motors to turn.I have spent several days checking and re-checking and still no luck.Has anybody got any ideas about this problem? Thanks in anticipation,Rob JuppAustralia

Do all the steppers 'lock' in position when you power it up or can they be spun by hand easily?
Where does the hand piece get power from? No batteries in it?
Where are the motor drivers and motion card? Inside the column? May need to pull the cover off and have a look?
Does the machine work at all?
    Steve

PS I just had a look at the manual. Its almost useless......
