It seems like your cables are going bad.
I had to replace all three cables on my 6040 machine, all with very little use.
If you replace them do it in a way to where they are shielded.
Hello,
I have a chinese 3020 machine and when i got it, it worked perfectly. Since few weeks i got some major problems with it and it gets worse with time.
First problem:
When i jog with my keyboard the Y axis (only in the bottom section of the working area) hangs/locks itself and it makes a strange sound. The X axis strated to do the same but only when a milling session is currently going on.
When i got the machine this problem wasnt present.
Second problem:
The spindle doesnt turn on when i activate it. It gets electricity and it makes a sound but it doesnt turn by itself.
I have to turn the spindle head by hand, in order to get it to rotate. After that i can normaly regulate it with the VFD.
I will include a Video aswell there i have recorded the problems.
Can anybody give me advice what to do?
Thank you!

Hi, this is typically a situation for substitution of components.
Many years ago when I was repairing lawn mowers for people I carried a new carburettor
or, coil set and a spark plug......when I got a dead mower it took 5 minutes to establish where the problem was.
I think in your case I'd make up one set of cables and try them on each axis, then go on from there.
Of course you would have first looked at the connections to see if anything had come loose etc.
Ian.
yeah i will try that. Will update you guys on that issue. Thank you
I ordered some 4 conductor connectors, and 4 wire shielded cable from amazon.
Was able to find the exact connector the machine already had so it was a direct swap on back of controller.
On the motor side I bought crimp barrel connectors. Not very professional, but was able to get machine going again.
The spindle should have 5 connectors though, I did not have to buy those connectors yet, but they should also be able to amazon.
There should be a laser scribe on the connectors into the controller that show what axis each is. Otherwise you will need to ohm them out.
You will need a soldering iron, and likely some heat shrink to solder the wires onto the connector.

already had a soldering iron. Should be able to use the wire and connector link to get the 5 pin ones.
