So the trim pot makes no difference when you turn it, we will try some different setting that control this D031=5

Do you have the VFD in the right mode for Running you may have to scroll to select this

I bought a 3020 with 800W spindle last week and thanks to this thread I figured out how to get it working.
The manual states only to change D032 to 1, which did not work when trying to control it from Mach3, the motor simply does not start even if the display shows the right values and I do hear a relay click in the controller.
Setting D032 back to 0 solved the situation for me! I have not had to change any of the other values other than D001 to 1 to allow changes to be made.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the info and figured I'd post this for future reference, because I'm sure everyone else going by the manual will run into the same problem and will most likely end up on Google and hopefully finding this thread

Could you look at all your parameters well up to 40, and write them down, as koolkleptokidd is still not running, his spindle turns on, but will not get up to speed, it could be just one parameter that is not set correct, and from what you have set, we may be able to see what is wrong

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get a notification.

Since I posted I found a little bug with my previous statement. It would control the RPM fine, but it would not turn on by itself unless I had turned it on manually on the controller. Discovered that the next time I used it... It would turn off simply by setting the rpm to 0.. Which was at least better than before when it would not be controlled by Mach3 at all
With a little help from the supplier I've now got everything sorted and it both turns on and controls rpm from Mach3. Everything is working as intended, as far as I can tell.
D032 is back to 1, and I had to change one setting in Mach3.

Here are my current settings that work for me. I should add that my VFD is a PRT-E750, not a 1500.

They are the strangest VFD settings I have ever seen, to run a spindle like this, can you take a photo of your spindle, and do you have the full RPM range 6,000 to 24,000 RPM

These are the settings it came with, except for D032. As far as I can tell it has the full range. I will add that it does take a while to get up to speed, I'd say close to 10 seconds to spin up to 20k from 0.
The spindle is an 800W 65 mm watercooled one. Here's the ebay listing that has all the specs, it looks exactly as on the pictures.

Great !!! it takes 10s to get up to speed, because it is set at 10s , Parameter D011 you can adjust this, it will fault out though, if you go too low with this setting

Does it get to the full speed of 24,000 RPM

Does anybody have a copy of the PRT-750 vfd manual? If so is there anty chance you can forward me a copy as I'm having a hell of a time setting up my 3040 which has this controller & the 800w water cooled spindle motor.

We are having the same issue snq! What setting in Mach3 did you change to overcome the problem with the D032?

Any new news on this? I have the same VFD and have entered all of the numbers listed and all I get now is flashing digits "00.0" on the VFD screen. It does not respond to manual or Mach3

Try pressing the run button on the vfd, the 000s should stop flashing, I've got my D032 pin set to 0 & have to press the run button every time I turn the controller on, I don't know if this is normal but at least I'm up & running!
    Hope this helps

Yeah, I tried that. I think I am close, it will stop flashing when I click the spindle control in Mach, by it will not turn either from Mach or by hand . I just dont know which setting is off. I tried matching SNQ setting that were posted with no luck as of yet. There were a couple of the setting that I could not get to match his, it would not let me zero them out. I dont remember which ones.

Check that D001=1 if at 0 then it will not let you change the Parameters

I found out how to get it set back to factory settings. Now I just need to get all of the frequencies set. I am still learning about the whole VFD concept.
