Schmoo? we must have gone to different schools..haha..
Your input has been invaluable, still a big learning curve to go through but hey I feel like I am getting there!
    cheers..

Oh yeah! Big learning curve! But with the help from you guys, I had some confidence to keep going. I am not really mechanically minded (I am a structural Engineer that designs Buildings) so that is a little different, but love this sort of stuff!
    Many thanks!

Hey Guys, well I did get a chance yesterday to rerun my project and had great results! The photos show the return to X=0 after the Rough pass, X=0 after the finish pass, and an overall pic showing everything ran square and not skewed as before! So an excellent result! I think the culprit was a combination of earthing, insulating the USB, checking the squareness of the machine, and check tightening the stepper motor collars on the motor shafts and the ballscrews. Many thanks to all and great forum!!

Well done Nick, that's a great looking piece too.

In case it helps anyone, I use a spray silicone lubricant, for the Y screw using one of those long straws like a WD40 can has. Seems to work a treat and makes it pretty easy to reach.

Hey there guys, hope all is well.
This is my latest carving on pine which came out great!
I used the circle cut-out wizard in Mach3 to cut out the job and it worked a treat.
I did not buy my machine for woodwork but really enjoying the versatility of materials and the finished product.
Might get on to doing some aluminium stuff one day, only have to revisit Fusion360 again and make some models.
Lovely piece of kit!....once you have got the bugs out of it!!
    cheers
    Nick

Good job there Nick, is that how it came off the machine or did it require tidying up frayed edges etc?

I really wanna run some stuff like that (particularly decorate the house with lots of wooden comedy penises whilst the missus is out at work OmioCNC report). But just... time. Never enough time.

That's two of us then. Unfortunately, even with the new highway, it's still a bit of a hike to play

    Thanks Guys
It is satisfying to get some nice results.
That's how it came off the machine, I have not done anything to it yet, but needs a bit of cleaning and a varnish or oil or something to finish it off.
I plan to hang them on the walls (like penises?) and decorate the place, and maybe open a stall at the sunday market and sell them??...yes I am talking penises again!
Sorry, lost the plot now. bye.

    Finally my x6 2200L arrived.
perfectly packed but couldnt find the user manual. since this is my first, i am not sure how to start it. I also received a pen drive which doesnt seem to work and i am not sure which version of mach3 to install. I have assembled it completely and the controller too lights up but nothing happens. the pendant (red remote) doesnt connect but as far as i know its all human error since i am not sure how to use it. If anyone has any links to how to assemble and use it, please do share

I think you will will find there probably isn't one....The Chinese aren't big on manuals...or after sales support....

Its generally accepted that R62 is the most stable version of Mach 3.

Did you get a CD with the machine or a link to a Website to Download software from?
You probably have to download a Mach 3 'plugin' for YOUR Motion Card. If you don't have any documentation, you may have open the Control Box up to ID it. This of course will void your warrenty ( if that matters to you?....Most don't think it matters too much....up tp you.)....Catch 22.....

This will also probably need aMach 3 'Plugin' in order for this to work.....

I don't have the same Router ( I have a X61500GT ) but they seem similar ( except yours has better hardware )....

I assume this is what you have?

    Some info here:

why does wireless handle not working?

    6/29/2015 1:12 PM
    1. After you installed the batteries, the "battery signal light" of the handle will be on for about 2 seconds.
    Then the light is off.

    2. Insert the wireless USB receiver into the computer.
Open Mach software, press the “RESET”button of the handle.
At this time the first light on the leftmost will be on.

At this moment, if the “RESET” of the Mach3 has not blinked, you can use the handle.
If the the “RESET” of the Mach3 has blinking, press the “RESET”button of the handle once again.

    3. Please check whether the “PlugIns” folder of your MACH installation directory has the “ShuttlePro.dll”file.

if you have no "shuttlepro.dll" file, click here to download it.

thank you so much, it works. i got a bit worried since i dont know much about the software but your link helped me.
but i think i have a problem with z axis movement. It moves in z- direction completely but when moving in z+ it only moves halfway. I will try to add the video to show how it moves for me.

    No problem....
Does the Z axis stop at the same place each time?
Does it make a noise when it stops?
Check for loose wiring on the Z axis first.

I checked the wiring, everything seems to be correct. z stops at the same place every time but the distance between the bed and collet is not 140mm, its way too low. no noise while it stops. I will try to add a video.
