Looks like a warning/abort because it sees code that will cause the z axis limit (soft limit presumably in the controller) to trip. I usually get things like this on for my x and y if the file I was sent had offsets and I forgot to reset everything to off of x0 y0.

In your case, I'm not sure but I'd check the g-code to see if it is actually what you wanted.

In case anyone is wondering, I'm the twin of the other gfacer on cnczone...

When I revert back to the standard gcode post processor with ATC in Vcarve the error doesn't come up.
So yes it must be something in the code.
I will look through it and compare.

I'm the meantime I'm still trying to do Syntec Lees routine to enter the value in parameter 3411. I've followed his method and I recorded the value under aux coord in offsets which in my machines case gave -303.575. I've tried entering it but it says it's out of range. ?

    Hey,

First make sure you got G43 H(toolnumber) in the code for tool compenastion height. And the tool is correct in Z-height against workpeice or table.

    Hi.
I checked and I do have g43 as the photo. I am also showing photos of the tool offsets I have set and machine coordinates.

Just tried it with the aspire fanuc file and same error. This time at beginning of file. Difference between files is the Apire file has command g43 right at the start so it's this that's causing it.

    Latest.
I've tried the aspire file without using offsets. Ie, the machines natural zero axis's and all is well. So the problem is the setting of the g54 offsets, of these aren't used the problem doesn't happen ?

Often you get this message if:
G54 Z is set correct against workpiece or top of material?
All tools are measured correctly in Z height?
    Watch SyntecLee´s vids.

Glad you mention Lee's videos. I've had another attempt to set parameter 3411 in accordance with the video.
I do the tool tip measure and it shows a dimension of -312.041 for the Aux Z coordinate on the offsets screen.

    ATTACH]298416[/ATTACH]

I then go to parameter 3411 and attempt to put the value of -312041 into it.
This value is rejected and an error message says "input value out of range "
Chinese CNC Syntec 6MA my experience-imageuploadedbytapatalk1447961486-235733-jpg

Looking at the value range underneath. It only allows a value range of 5 digits and this obviously 6.

So at the moment I can't use Lee's method.

    Any ideas ?

    Cheers

I have a different way of setting my tools and tool sensor compared to SyntecLee.
In 3411 I got the height difference between the tool sensor and the table.
Run MDI with tool sensor, then MPG the surface of the table with same tool. The difference in tool height will be the value that you put in 3411. Now all tools is according to the table in Z height.
Since I work with the table or spoil board as zero for Z and the material is + this works great. I rarely have to set the Z at all.

After fly cutting the spoil board, run a MDI tool change using tool sensor, then touch the spoil board surface with the same tool, run a tool tip touch off(found where you got the tool heights). And if you would like to set the material surface as Z0, use the same method as above but instead of touching spoil board touch material surface. You need to run a tool sensor touch off otherwise you will not get the aux value needed.
    Good luck.

Glad to see you got it worked out djcregan. Can you post a copy of the post or email me when you have it nailed down? Also a summary of how you did it when it is fresh in your mind would be very useful. Thanks, Graham

    Please help!

    Setting the Tools continued.
I have replicated Daniels process which I understand to be as follows:

    TOOL HEIGHT OFFSETTING PROCEDURE.

    1. Run command "T (tool no)" in MDI Mode.

    2. Mpg mode - Move tip of tool to top of the spoil board.

    3. Observe controller screen readings and record the Z coordinate values of :

    1. Machine Z = -343.550
    2. Aux coord Z = -326.001

    3. Move decimal point to 6 digit values
    4. Subtract Aux Z coordinate value from Machine Z coordinate value.

    Eg. -343550 - -326001

    Result = −17549

    5. Enter this value into parameter 3411

Tool tip at Z zero should be touching the spoil board - correct ?

    Answer = No !

Here's the position if I run Z to Zero, it's approx 24mm above spoil board

When I mpg down to the spoil board here is the screen reading.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG ?

    It's driving me crazy.

    Hello again.
Run MDI mode, and a tool (like T2) with tool sensing activated and make sure that the machine will touch of the tool sensor.
Now you got a value for the tool T2 = 123.456(from tool sensor), now move the tool against the spoil board.
The machine shows a value 234.561. Positive value if the tool sensor is above spoil board and negative if it is below (not 100%sure). The difference between the above figures will be the height dif. between the tool sensor and spoil board. Then run Z-height touch off with the tool against the spoil board. Don´t use the Aux to anything!
Kanske blir lättare om jag skriver på svenska?

Do you have carousel or linear ATC. ?

I am asking this as I don't believe the parameter functions with Linear ATC. There are previous posts that suggest this but I haven't concluded yet.

I am in the process of asking my machine manufacturer for further information.

So In the meantime, for each tool I am doing the mpg to the work surface. which like you is the spoil board. Touch the board, record Machine Z value and replace the tool offset value with this value.

    Repeat for each tool.

jag tror inte att det skulle hjälpa

I now have a list of parameters for the Syntec 6MD which my manufacturer was helpful in sending after my request. Interestingly in searching through I cannot find parameter 3411. Even more interesting is the parameter listed as 3841 with description as follows "1.189Pr3841~Pr3844 Measurement of tool contact surface position -
    3841
    [-999999999 ~ 999999999].

I'm now asking for clarification from Omni.

Another pint to consider is that no matter what value is entered into parameter 3411, the position of the tool tip doesn't change.

    Hi Daniel
I have yet to have s good look as I have work to complete.

What I would say is I think I've done everything that I should do and it doesn't appear to change any height by changing parameter 3411.
The parameter list I've been sent doesn't list 3411 at all either.

I've been looking around at the parameters and there's a parameter 3842, I'm attaching a picture. Curiously the value is the same as I would input into 3411 doing the calculation from tool measure to spoil board.

I've asked the supplier and they are still saying its 3411.

Do in really not sure at the moment.
Will let you know at some point shortly.

    Thanks
