I have a chance to buy a used Camsoft CNC software package.
Are there any restrictions on transferring software?
The current owner has the dongle.
Can a maintenance plan be bought to bring the software up to date?
I do not have all of the details on which version the software is yet.
Thanks,

Speed,
Its not only about current versions, although I think you can update for a price. I know from personal experience that Camsoft has to give a lot of support to a first time retrofitter. Support people cost money to have around. While they may permit the transfer, you'd have to negotiate whether the previous owner "used up the support" or not when he bought the package. Its worth haggling for. Good luck.
First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

Yes I got it........
Couldnt take the chance of missing another.
I only want the program so I will probably be putting the board and ICM
back on Ebay .
Its taken just over a year to get everything together to build my system.
I have enough to build up to 6 axis.
This is only a hobby to me ,right now ,someday I'd like to build a
full CNC shop for either jobs or my own product.
I have some experience with Camsoft already ,I helped a former employer
set up a system ,I hear he has already outgrown what we built
and now looking for a new/larger machine.
Me , I only have a 12X36 lathe and a Grizzly mill/drill ,but they will probably
be the badest hobby machines on the block.
