Normally the Galil drivers can be uninstalled. Open Programs and Features from the control panel and find the Galil stuff and uninstall. Then reboot, that should remove all of the drivers.
Motherboard took a dump, and buggered up the Hard Drive with it.
Upon reloading, my boy was just following the on-screen prompts, and loaded the Galil drivers, and now we seem to be stuck. The book says to NOT load those, but now we believe that they are in there and causing us grief.
My tech has reloaded the Ethernet card and software - hoping to trump the previous driver install, but keep getting error.
Page 3-18 in the 2009 manual says "Call Camsoft for more assistance."

I know Camsoft will try and charge you if you did not take out a service contract, try Galil, they are usually pretty good at getting back to you.

OH BOY, I've been here before.
Believe me, its easier to just go nuclear. Reformat the hard drive, install your OS, 32 BIT ONLY, install the camsoft software. Make sure it is working in demo mode. Shut down computer and put Galil board in. On restart the computer should find Camsoft's Galil driver and all will be well.
Look in AS3000\HELP, the is a file titled something like 96iocards.rtf (name from my terrible memory) It has exacting instructions on installing the IO card.
Let me know if you get stuck, I've been here many times over the last 16 years of running Camosft.
BTW, once it runs, buy another hard drive and clone it so it won't need to be done again.

Have stripped and reloaded everything, and back to same point.
No firewall or anti-virus..
Galil DNC 2172 motion card w/analog Input Option 6 for Camsoft registry entry opp successful.
Upon reboot and Camsoft launch - Camsoft reports "Controller could not be found" in Winders Registry.
Not sure if it's not seeing Galil Controller or Network Interface Adaptor at this point.
Any ideas?
.
Sorry, I have never used the network Galil card.
Does it show up in your network?
I am willing to bet there is an .RTF file in the \AS3000\HELP folder telling all about network Galil cards. I will look tonight and let you know what I find.
There is a file called ethernet motion cards.rtf in the AS3000\HELP folder. Go through that in detail and your problems should be solved.
I will pass that along.
Thanks.

Still dinking with this project....
Have loaded, loaded, reloaded, reformatted, and reloaded again....
This is where my guy is at today.

Sorry, this is how the camsoft techs earn their money. Ask them.
I haven't paid support for 10 yrs.
.
In that case you are in deep stuff. Make sure all your hardware and OS are at least ten years old and try from the top again with a different computer. Ten year old software is not going to have drivers etc. for newer stuff. In computer terms, you're trying to make an antique work.
Myself, I'd pay them. A lot of upgrades have occurred in the last ten years.
How much?
.
Typically if you keep it up it's only $16 to $41 a month which includes tech support with one of us, free software updates to the current version and new printed manuals plus CD tutorials and post processors. Contact one of the ladies in our front office in the morning and give them your serial number. It varies widely, depending on the version you have and age.

I guess hobbyists just aren't used to paying for a service...
what you get for the $40 a month is unbelievable. I accidentally emailed on a Sunday morning once, they answered right away. Their paradigm is 24x7 support.
Last year, I used Camsoft as part of a suite of software to build an industrial quality surveillance and security system. I ran into a weird incompatibility problem between the latest computer and an antique Galil card. They diagnosed the issue and wrote a custom software version, CNC Pro 18.4, no charge. Again, their paradigm is we support all other vendors products. No small thing with the huge amount of products out there.
