Overcut is a function in Sheetcam TNG that allows the machine to over travel past the point of entry on a circle. This gives you a hole that is virtually dimple free. Our drive system uses a hand indicated gear rack and hardened ground linear rail. The two share an equal pitch line throughout the travel. This type of all steel gantry build allows a much more precise cut versus using an extrusion for the gantry and springs to lead the pinion gears. We have found the benefits of using a true hardened profile linear rail versus a V rail to be worth the extra effort in all axis.
