2001 Bridgeport VMC 1000 XP 30 Fanuc 18i Need Help Please!

Hello everyone,
The machine has been running great. Finished up a production job and the machine sat for 2 days. Fired it up again, Z and Y homed fine, X moved opposite direction and alarmed out. The alarm is "2043 Reference Switch Fault". Pulled cover and cleaned limit switch - pretty sure it's just for axis limits. Didn't change anything. Noticed servo amplifier in cabinet was flat lined, so pulled it out and saw it looked like burn marks above fan. Bought another amp and installed it. Machine homed out fine even though it still showed flat line. Shut it down figuring it was good and put covers back on. Powered up and tried to home - X axis goes opposite way again!!!! Parameters are fine, no wires moved/changed. I'm hoping someone here might have an idea! --------------- John

...2001 vintage micro switches cleaned...thats impossible....buy a dozen new ones
