I have an issue on a new to us 1995 Bridgeport Tor Cut 22 where the spindle oscillates when doing a spindle orient and tool change operation, which can cause some issues with changing tools ( so far only a load pop noise when picking up a new tool)
If I do an M19 command the spindle locks up and oscillates probably a couple degrees. If a grab the spindle the oscillation will stop. I have added a video of what is happening.
Looking for some input to see if there are settings I need to change to fix this, or if this is normal for this machine.
Look at the belt that goes from the spindle to the encoder. If it is loose it can cause this problem as it is hunting back and forth to hold the position.
Thank you,
I gave that a check and tightened it up but it did not resolve the issue.
I was looking at other threads and think it could be the spindle gain, does that sound like the next step? The actual spindle speed is always a couple RPM less than requested and more as the spindle speed increases if that gives any other hints to the issue.
I think that i have narrowed the problem down to the transmission, I can feel play when manually turning the spindle back and forth that seems about the distance of the oscillation. then checked all the pulleys and they are all tight. I have all the manuals but there isnt anything in there on servicing the transmission. Is there a place to get this information? Thanks
