Almost any VFD will do for your Mill you should get one that can support 240v 10A input minimum, I guess you are using single phase, the input amps is important when you use single phase supply

I would use a 12A input rated VFD Drive for this motor

3 phase input has nothing to do with it, a 3 Phase input VFD Drive still runs on Single Phase don't believe what a sales person tells you

A 3hp that you got should do the job with having the braking resistor, the Rated Input Amps that the Drive can use is what is important when using Single Phase supply that needs to be a minimum of 10A for your motor so that is 10Amps on the input not the output of the VFD Drive if it can't do that then send it back and get one that can

Mac, thanks for the input.. i have reached out to this company to find out the input amps... The rated output current (A) is 10.5 and the rated input current (A) is 23.9 / 12.5 depending upon if you are using single or three phase.

That would be fine if those numbers are correct would make this drive quite good for other Spindles, as well it has a good safety factor @ 23.9 A
