got myself a 30hp converter and it is working top notch.
I just picked up a 98 VMC1000/22 with a DX-32 controller. I have been looking at phase converters trying to decide what size I might need. I have a friend with a similar machine running only a 15hp converter. His shop currently is running 2 15hp converters for a variety of machines. He picked up a 40 HP converter and will give me a deal on one of his current converters.
Does anybody know if this will work? The spindle motor on my mill is 15HP on its own. When I look at the American rotary website it appears that they recommend a 30HP converter for a 15HP CNC.
I was also considering buying just the cabinet with the caps and switches ready to go and sourcing my own 3 phase motor.
Any insight would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!
