Morning all

This is a follow up thread from my previous in the Haas section.

I am currently looking at purchasing small VMC. for our new business (UK based). Work is predominately our own products and mainly aluminium.

I had been looking at a couple of Haas VF0E machines as we could of got them for a very sensible price, however I did have concerns on maintenance and parts costs on older versions.

A Bridgeport VMC500/16, year 1997, has come up for sale down the road. I have had a search but not really been able to find much info on these. It has a heidenhain tnc 370 controller. People appear to not get on with the Heidenhain controller, but being a newbie to CNC work (little experience from quite a few years ago) I don't think this will be too much of an issue.

Does anyone have any advice or experience with these machines and things to consider when possibly purchasing one.

Also how to you rate them against the Haas VF0E or VF2.

Again any help is greatly appreicated.
