I'm setting up redundant tooling on my machining line, and I want to add an alarm that will trigger once a new tool has performed its first cut. The alarms should say something like: "Tool Life Expired!" The operator will then know that a redundant tool has been used on this part, and to inspect the part to make sure the tool is functioning as intended. Production can resume normally afterwards.

Does anyone know how to add an alarm like this?

To explain further: The machine runs 9 tools. Each of these 9 tools will have a backup (replica) tool; same offsets/tool holder etc. When the tool life on the original expires, the new tool will be called -- that part of the project is completed. The last thing we want to add is a simple alarm that triggers at the end of the program that just alerts the operator that the new tool cut this part.

Thanks.
