Bridgeport Interact 720 Z problem

Hi there folks , I have a Interact 720 with a Heidenheim 2500 controler . The problem is the Z axis flashes a report that the Z has overun its axis .I had this with the Y axis one time and that was the infrared sensor coupling had broken , its a brass banjo like connector to the shaft . My question is on the Z axis I presume it has the same setup ,but where is it ?? If ofcourse thats the problem , but you have to start some where !! Hope you can Help thank you Harry

Ok just to add to the question ! Found the Encoder , it was ofcourse at the other end of the Z axis ! Yeh I know to easy right ! I got help from Tom at ETG in the Uk , he sent me a PDF of it all , will put it on the forum if wanted all the best Harry
