Most motors blow out from the motor. I would guess the spindle motor is the same but I can't say I've actually checked it. I can check tomorrow and let you know. I'm pretty sure I have a black mark on the ceiling above the machine which I'd attribute to the fan.
Yes I did. I ran it for several hours yesterday without any issues. Something shorted out and burnt the mainboard in the vfd. The company that I purchased the drive from replace the board. We will see how long it lasts this time.
