Guys
have a problem on a Bridgeport VMC 760 milling machine, keep getting the alarm GROSS POSITIONING ERROR S B when try to run the spindle or do a tool change,
Its a Heidenhain control with seimens drives and motors
GROSS POSITIOINING ERROR <AXIS> B: The nominal voltage calculated by the control has reached its limit of ± 10 V (only with feed precontrol).
When this error message is generated, the error may be located in any element of the closed loop. e.g.
- Control error (e.g. CLP board)
- Excessive offset voltage at the servo amplifier
- Monitoring function of the servo amplifier has responded (e.g. power monitoring)
- Servo amplifier defective
- Motor, tachometer, encoder or cables defective
- Mechanical defect (bearings, spindle, guides)
- Excessive mechanical forces on a drive
I have the same problem on my 760. When you start the spindle it goes solid but will not rotate.
I get the error only on the first tool change attempt then no errors on the screen or the drive amp or power supply.
