Can I program an open shape by selecting one entity at a time.
The small instruction manual teaches me to choose the entire shape
with a single click. This works , but I really need to have the ability
to choose just a partial area of my shape for a creative
toolpath.

I think this is the 2x open feature. But I'm just getting into it so I dont know how much help I can be. If you want to dig in, You can post a model and I can look with you, but I may need to ask a bunch of questions as to how you want the feature setup.
