Need 2D profile from 3D drawing

I need to get a 2D profile from a 3D dxf drawing. (BobCad 30) I was able to draw a surface through it and got a profile but it doesn't have points and lines I can measure. How can I get a 2D profile out of it?

Use project curves to flatten your 3D wire frame

Thanks for the help. As it turned out I was able to get the measurements from the surface I drew on the X axis.
