I’m trying to figure out if this is a line reactor. I found this in my spare parts and not sure what it is.
    Thanks

    Hi,
it is not a line reactor.

It is a three-phase transformer. Cannot really tell but would guess it has three tapped windings rather than three isolated primary/secondary types.

Servo’s, cables, drivers showed up so now I can start wiring everything up. While I was waiting for shipment I added button panel, pressure regulator for spindle nozzles. The controller cables for controller also showed up so inputs can be in the cabinet instead of trying to get them all in screen panel.

I originally purchased the oiler for dovetails but have since removed them and converted to linear rails, I’m now going use to lubrication pump for my ball-screws. I fired up my ball-screw lubrication pump to see how it will work. The on off relay will allow me to adjust time on and off. I’m going to try to do 10 drops every 30 min. With the addition of oil in my flood coolant, I’m going to need to add skimmer. I’ll start digging thru my salvage bins to come up with something. Most of my electrical parts are finally starting to show up. And began to adapt new servo’s since they are not same as the ones I removed.

    Hi,

With the addition of oil in my flood coolant, I’m going to need to add skimmer.
Why? I've been using water soluble oil for eight years and never had a need to skim the surface. Nor have I ever had it smell or go 'rotten' or anything like that.
I used to use a Total product, but now use Rocol 35:1 as it is available locally.

I am always shocked at how much coolant I use. I will often have to top up my tank with at least one, but more often two lots (4l per lot) of water/oil mix every day where I'm using the machine for say four hours.
I cant work out where it all goes. I know there is the occasional spill or leak, but never liters worth. I can only assume that when it hits the tool and spun up into a mist of small particles that it
evaporates very much more easily than from the tank. I'd expect some evaporation form the tank, say 1l per day over summer perhaps....but never the 8l or more I have to top up with.

Certainly what I don't do is shag around with stuff that does not affect the use of my machine. May I suggest rather than mess around with a skimmer....get the machine making chips. Let using the machine dictate what
you need or don't need to make it productive.

    Craig

My spindle with A/B servo was 5,000 rpm’s, 2,500 in low and 10,000 in high. With DMM servo it will be 1,500 in low and 6,000 in high. The spindle bearing are rated for 6,000 rpm’s so I’m probably better off not trying to run it at 10,000 rpm’s. The DMM spindle is rated at 3000 W, and 3000 rpm’s. The spindle has been the biggest challenge to convert with size difference but with that getting close to being finished up I’ll work on the rest of the axis’s. Looks like everything is going to work out.
The rest of parts for electrical cabinet has finally showed up. I will try there auto program to setup drives. It’s nice to finally get to see progress with servo’s.

Servo couplings needed to be replaced since shaft sizes were larger. Finished Y and X axis servo’s couplings, just have Z to finish up.

The war department has me remodeling our guest bedroom so I won’t have time this week to work on getting wiring done.

Because the new servo is larger I needed to move my cable chain over to make room for the servo. The spindle encoder mount plate had to be remade. The encoder will give me the actual speed since the servo will be 1-2 or
    2-1.

My flood coolant hose and air blow for spindle wouldn’t fit in my cable chain so I found a smaller one in my spare parts that would work. So I added a second cable chain to help clean up extra hoses.
