Warp9td makes the Smoothstepper, which comes in USB and ethernet versions; I've tried the latter with success. The UC100 is made by PC4CNC; It works well. I've had no experience with the PoKeys product, though.
I need recommendations on a CNC Parallel to USB controller. I have a Xylotec controller for a Taig 2019CR that requires a parallel port which my PC does not have. Doing research it looks like there are two USB to parallel port adapters. One is a PoScope PoKeys57CNCd25 and the other is a warp9td UC100. They are roughly the same price and work with Mach4. Does anyone have experience with either of these and recommend one over the other? Are there any others in around $100 that work with Mach4?

Thanks. Wrong vendor, but correct item. I'm stuck between spending $90-110 on the USB version or going with the $180 ethernet smoothstepper. I still haven't decided whether I will keep this setup for the long term. If I do stick with it for the long term, the ethernet sounds like a much better option. But if I don't I would have spent extra money on something I won't use long. My other long term option is using the Centroid Acorn. That would mean using their software instead of Mach4.
Hi,
If you want a simple plug and play USB option, then the UC100 is probably your best bet as it plugs into a USB port Ruth the other end plugging into the parallel port DB25.

The Ethernet motion controllers are more resilient against EMI and other electrical noise, but they will need a 5v supply and a corresponding cable to plug between the Smoothstepper and controller parallel port.
I use Ethernet motion controllers for new builds but have used the UC100 for some retrofits.
