What wire to use?

Hi,
I would like to extend my wires for my nema 34 motor, the motor has 6 amps printed on the label and I'm using 60 volt power supple will it be ok to use 18 awg wire?

Yes. I'm using the same at 3 metre lengths with GX20 connectors.

I was worried about 18 awg wire getting hot and melting or starting a fire i was not sure

Hello.

I use 16 AWG for up to 6 meters with no overheating at all. Then I use wire nuts for the motor to cable connections.
