As the sign says, Hare and Forbes drill mill (australian rongfu clone).
2 x nema 34 large for X+Y, 1 x nema 23 large for Z.
I will deal with the quill issue, sensibly and not way of modifying the head casting, it will have a ballscrew.
Controller is offline lollette.

Machine arrived 2011 and has had alot of bits hacked off it.
It's done a fair bit of work and is due for gib tightening and spindle bearing repacking.
The 44 gallon drum was a quick and easy swarf tray, it can hold coolant.
The 5 axis lollette choice was because I have a 250mm rotary table to do trunnion table duty in future.
The cad changed 20 times and is now a guideline which I hack up as I please, this weekend I will post more when I get to shed at Dads.
Stepper 9nm with 0.8 reduction as I hope to cut steel quite a bit, I dont want to focus on alloy too much.
