I'm thinking that with the 0.4mm size mentioned. He put a tiny slot across the top.
Going from say the oil slot you already made on the carriage, to the edge of the dovetail. So the oil dripped down into the sides as well as on the top.
    If you get me.

I just drilled a hole through my gibs in the correct position so oil would squirt straight through to the tail itself.. The other tail side already has a small hole.

So a hole on the dove tail, the one without a gib is enough?

On my setup the oil fitting go on the side of the casting and the oil hole goes straight to the gib. A perpendicular hole was drilled so oil can get to the way surface.

In order to achieve oil pressure at the way I had to partially block the gib channel. Hence the metering hole.

The metering hole is just a piece of Derlin threaded to M6 and a small 0.4mm hole drilled through the center.

I threaded the metering device passed the was hole so full pump flow reached the way and only a tiny part reached the gib.

It was trial and error. I started with 0.8mm holes and went down until I was happy with the results.

But, like I said. A tapered gib will retain pressure, so this is not needed.

You can check my Optimum MH25V thread. I posted there pictures of the oiling setup and you can see what I mean

Sorry, I checked your thread but still don't know what is a metering hole.

    You mean this hole?

    Here you go...

    See the marked area

But as stated before, with a tapered gib machine this is not needed. The tapered gib will act as a seal and you will not loose pressure there

    Ok thanks.

For the Y axis ball bearing nut I had to make my own fitting because the pneumatic ones does not fit in the room.

At some point I bought some very low profile compression fittings for nylon tubing. Ordered them from china (off-course)

Worked really well and had a small form-factor. Only downside was the tubing could not be easily removed, so not really good for hard to reach places

    Hi again,

I drilled trough the gib but should I also cut a channel on it?

You have a tapered gob which acts as a seal. I would try it first without the channel and see if oil gets where it should. I am pretty sure it will
