Default Prolight 1000 Mill upgrade with Masso controller

Am currently upgrading my Prolight 1000 Mill to a Masso controller so it will operate "Stand Alone".
Masso support has been excellent via their forum.

I am including this as this forum has enabled me to learn so much whilst making my decision which was to go. Thanks to all those that have added information on the Prolight machines and upgrade knowledge.

I will be using this 12 Volt power supply: SME240-12-10 (240Volt, 12Volts DC at 10Amps)

    Motor details as below:
Spindle Motor: Baldor (Now ABB) 1HP, 180Volts DC, 5.3Amps, 6880Rpm,
    Superior Electric Stepper Motors: 60mm NEMA 23 Hold: 150 Oz/IN, Steps: 200, 3.36V, 2.9Amps DC

    Motor Drive Box:
The stepper motors are driven by the L298N chips and are stepped on negative pulse.
    Siemens ilq5 optoIsolators

Computer PinOuts as supplied by "Nth" are confirmed as correct for my machine.

    Code:
    Pin I/O Desc Active Remarks

    1. I Acc 1 H Normally high, pull low to disable the Acc1 plug.
    2. I Acc 2 H Normally high, pull low to disable the Acc2 plug.

    11. O Lid Open L Best to wire this in (or to estop). The mill will kill the spindle on low regardless of the control box or computer’s output. Great way to snap bits.

    17. I Full/Half Step H Default high is half steps. Pull low for full steps.
    18. I Y Direction B
    19. I Z Step L Normally high, steps on low pulse.
    20. I Y Step L Normally high, steps on low pulse.
    21. I X Step L Normally high, steps on low pulse.
    22. I Enable H
    23. O E Stop L
    24. O X/Y/Z Home L
    25. ? ??? ?
I also had problems with the CNC/Manual switch not working so I had to trace out the wiring and this in included for completeness. Pins 1,2 on the DB9 are correct but when mine was built pins 1 and 9 where wired and thus did not work.
About to connect everything to the Masso and will report on how things go.

Hello. Thanks for the preliminary info. I am doing the same conversation: prolight 1000 to masso. I need help with the spindle motor. We're you able to wire it to the masso successfully? I would much appreciate a wire diagram. Thank you very much.
