I have a Prolight 1000 CNC, and I took a look at my motor brushes and they appear to be really worn down, but I can't seem to find a part number, or source for these.
If anyone has any info on a part number, and or source It would be really appreciated.
I did try some brushes from a company called CarbonBrush.com but I'm not sure if I'm using the correct brush material. I ordered the ones made of Graphite-G ( the other options were Copper-M, and Black-E, but the Graphite-G was the only one that was rated for high RPM, so I went with that one )
At first the motor would not start up at all with the new brushes, so I took the new brushes and gently ran them over a curved metal file to create the round profile that the brushes would be pressing up against on the motor and now it does run and seems to be working fine.
So bottom line is that If I could find the true replacement for the oem I would change these out, otherwise I will keep using these new ones.
