As new member to the group let me introduce myself. I am a retired teacher ( middle school math). I have been machining for about two years and having a grand old time. The Grizzly mini mill and lathe are the tools that I now use. I am considering uprgading to a 9x20 lathe and a Harbor Freight Vertical knee mill #40939-3VGA, at 1399.00. What I have been wondering if anyone has used this mill and what thoughts you might have about it. Secondly I would like to get into CNC with this mill, but I know very little about it. Since this machine is larger than the mini mill what type of motors should I use and any other CNC equiptment would I need to do this.
