Congratulations! I am still trying to figure out the moral to the story, Gambling really does pay? Or like my father says, you wont get it if you dont ask?
I drove up from Portland, OR to Bellingham, WA for the Saturday Grizzly tent sale. On the way up I stopped at a Casino outside of Bellingham. It was like taking candy from a baby on Friday night. Walked out of there with $700 extra in my pocket, figured that was enough. Stayed at some really shaky hotel in Bellingham Friday night. It was my first visiting Grizzly. I got in line around 6:45 AM. There were people with chairs and blankets...maybe 50 people ahead of me in line. People were using binoculars to look through the fence. The gate opened at 8:00 AM, people were running and yelling, it was awesome! You would think you were at some Party lite candle party a bunch of women and a free give away! At any rate, I found a G0602 for $700. It had the control panel bashed in a bit and the gears were all loose in the tool box. Also missing a few knobs. The price seemed a little high for a $1100 lathe so I asked a Grizzly person if he would take $500. He said he would do that! Looks like she was never run, missing a few knobs and one gear which I ordered. Got her home and on the bench, cleaned her up! I’m pretty happy with it so far. Still waiting on a backordered G0704. I looked through the order list on the computer with a Grizzly person while I was there. It looks like I am about next in line to get a mill from the next shipment of 0704's. I ordered in early June 2011. The computer now says September...but who really knows. I looked at the demo unit on the showroom floor. I have to say the on/off button / EMO switch looks like a joke as well as the DRO but I guess thats what you get for $950. I figure something out for that stuff anyway. I have all of my CNC motors running well on the bench and most of the parts ready for the conversion.

Did you see that weiss combo machine they had next to the g0602's?
Interesting... looked to be a G0602 with about a 26" bed with a weiss mill head on it.

I am pretty lucky to only live about 15 min away from the b'ham showroom
As far as the casino, sounds like tulalip? My dad is always taking money from them, but then turns around and donates it to another casino LOL

does it say 10 x 22 or 19 x 22? Im guessing its 10 x 22 seeing as how it looks identical to my WT 11 x 26

first order of business was to make a new T nut and thread a post for the quick change tool post.
First threads I ever cut on a lathe. Was a bit hairy doing it the first time, figuring out the gearing was umm... FUN....
Turbo442, I hate you.
Um, I mean, congratulations on the great deal!
One hell of a deal, Turbo! Congratulations. I was always lucky at poker, but didn't dare go to a casino; I always thought that the following day I would be homeless.
Did you make a test bar up yet? My G4003G was only .0005 variation in 24". Shocked the hell out of me.
OK doornob, more stuff for the shop !!!! I have been watching the MIT machine shop videos and realized I needed a belt sander and a metal bandsaw. Trying to find used stuff on Craigslist that is not cheap junk. (Not that the Grizzly lathe is exactly great quality, but its filling a need right now).
Mid 90's Delta belt sander. 9"disk, 6" belt x 48". $120 with stand.
RAmCO Horizontal Bandsaw. Craigs list $450. Maybe I paid a little much...I dont know, it seems pretty beefy and is in good condition. Also has a vertical table. My tests cuts look great so far.

You made me google test bar and I found this...
Making a Lathe Test Bar
Today I found a RAmCO 50 ton press someone wants to get rid of. It basically looks brand new unlike the one in this photo. What do you guys think this thing is worth? I dont really need it at this moment but I probably can pick it up for $400... maybe less. Here is a picture of a similar one I found on Google images. What do you guys think?
