What kind of rpm are you getting with this motor? If you have it already. Does the kbmm-225 input into mach3 for rpm control? I am still getting my ducks in a row to make sure what I need to buy when I start.
Thanks, Chris.

Actually I was reading up on the motor thread and linked over to the speed controller page. Would this controller be a better fit for the 3.8 treadmill motor? It also mentions tach feedback as well as armature feedback. Grab the $3.00 heat sink and it should be good for up to 3hp.
Any thoughts if this would be a contender? Thanks again for all the information.
Chris
The kbmms can be controlled by mach using a C6 board or similar, mine is.
I'll have to explore the kbmg, sounds good.

The KBMG-212 is a more sophisticated drive, it is a 4 quadrant drive which means not only can you reverse the motor but it has regenerative braking, rather than the coast style of the 2 quadrant, also be set up with a ± to the control via pot or external command for bi-directional control.
If the motor has a DC tach, this can be used for really tight control.

Hoss,
Do you specify on your DVD instructions what the dimensions for the ballnut clearance pocket are?
I seem to be having trouble finding it.
Thanks a bunch.
EDIT: Never mind I put in the actual DVD and it seems to not have copied correctly onto my computer. It is on the DVD but not on my computer, going to fix that right now.
Google maps are cool, I wonder what I was doing when the satellite took this new pic of my house this summer.
Probably what I'm doing now.

Hi Hoss,
I was looking through your site again and noticed you have download versions of the dvd's now, maybe I just missed them before. That's a nice option but was wondering how big the files are i.e. how long it will take to download. Should I just pay S&H for the hardcopy? Thanks for the great site by the way.
All the best, Carl
Duh, I should have read better, I see the file sizes now.

Hoss, I just received an order of .1875 3FEM from Maritool. I havent used them yet but can you say sharp? I cant wait.
That was the whole reason behind my purchase. You always spoke highly of them. Seems much sharper than the Garrs and others I have used though this was specially for aluminum.
A lazy man does it twice.
Hoss,
Can you post about the RPM/torque ranges of the motors you have been working with?
I am working on a gantry mill design, and want to get a spindle that has a wide speed range (750-15k like mactec's). I think it would need to use a 2 or 3 step pulley, but I don't know what the usable range of these motors is. Regards.
-Steve
This video shows the 2 motors I've used on the mill as replacements.
