Material for dust cover...

Hi All... does anyone know the material used in AVID CNC PRO Ballscrew Z Axis?

Sales literature says... Reliable: dust cover strip and guides protect both linear rails and ballscrew from debris. Is this true? Sound design?

I'm considering a similar design for my DIY benchtop CNC.
