help please my feedrates are terribly slow with wrap toolpath
im using inventor hsm...
i was able to figure out how to configure the post processor so that i have my 4th axis mounted on the left side of the table facing the x- direction.. so the A is turning in the direction that corresponds with the toolpath and simulation.
im using a 1000:1 reduction harmonic 4th axis..
first attemp, i had my configuration set rotation 360 rollover and the A axids would just turn and never do anything but turn..so i reset the general config and unchecked 360 rollover and it started to work properly
i discovered that the ramp feedrate controls the a axis rotation i think, so on my first attempt i usually use 15ipm on the ramp feedrate.. but when i tried to cut, it did show 15ipm but i think because of the reduction ratio, it was going so slow i couldnt even see rotation..
so i reposted and set the ramp feedrate to 100ipm and that really sped up the A axis,,,but when it comes time for the coordinated x and y moves during the wrap cutting, it obviously goes to the 20ipm feedrates..the wole thing looks kinda wrong..do i have to match the feedrate of the x and y to the A axis feedrates ... for example run 100ipm on cutting feedrate .. im scared to do that vecause it most certainly will i think brreak the tool..
do i need to change something else in my general config..or in the post processor..or does someone maybe have a post processor with the A on the left side they might share that i could try.
heres a copy of the first bit of tap ..i didnt let it go much farther than this, as it was panful to just sit there and watch me suck so bad

Re: help please my feedrates are terribly slow with wrap toolpath
it was definitely a stupid on my part...
i checked the box for use radius as feedrate in the toolpath section
use rotations was already cheacked
and in general config i uncheckled 360 rollover... when it was checked it was looking for a negative number and never finds it with 360rollover checked.
and somehow i totally screwed up the steps per setting in motor config, it was set to twice the actual amount...i think unchecking the 360 rollover somehow effected that im not sure.. so i rett the steps per and ended up at 222.22222
and the above settings and im going to try again..but prelim looked good, i had to feedrate over ride to 30 percent because i had the ramp set to 100ipm..LOL//it was scary but with the 1/8 3 flue it was eating it no problem..
Re: help please my feedrates are terribly slow with wrap toolpath
i guess i worded it wrong...i do know chipload and feedrates for different materials ...i just meant that i was having to use a crazy high feedrate in the cam to get the a xis to move along.. it was settings in toolpath in mach 3 were wrong..once i checked use radius for feedrarte in toolpath settings and unchecked 360rollover, it worked..
