    Default OKK MCV500 ORIENT PROBLEM

    Hoping someone here can point me in the right direction on what to check. Last week I had to change the spindle drive (Mitsubishi DL-SDZ) on my mill and now I cant use the ATC function because the spindle wont reliably orient correctly. It has a DL-FM orient board with 7 VRs to tune the correct spindle orientation for ATC.

    VR801= speed (hi range)
    VR802= " (lo range)
    VR803= gain (hi range)
    VR804= " (lo range)
    VR805= offset (hi range)
    VR806= " (lo range)
    VR807= Sens (sensitivity?)

    I can get the low range pretty close, but it creeps really slow and eventually gets out of position and throws a "spindle trouble" alarm. However, it will stay in position long enough to change a tool. For this, the GAIN is turned all the way up and the OFFSET is turned all the way down and the SENS is at about 30%

    The hi range orient position is being really problematic. Again, the GAIN is all the way up and OFFSET is all the way down and with the SENS at the same 30%, it shudders back and forth as seen in this video as the last 2 spindle orientation attempts. The first 2 are in the lo range.

    If I turn the SENS VR down, I can get the spindle to stop shuddering, but then it is out of position by about 10 degrees, and it creeps. Then when I try to orient the spindle in the lo range at that SENS setting, the spindle goes right past the orient position window and throws an alarm.

    Thanks in advance

    Can anybody tell me what "GAIN" and "OFFSET" mean?
    It uses a MACOME BKO C1730H01 magnetic sensor for spindle orientation signal. Looks like these are also used on Mazaks
