Default Is there any local compendium of experience?

    Hi All,

Just new to the fun, had a non-functional CNC mill ( 6040 ) for about 15 years, of which for 14 years, 11 months it was a shelf ornament. Finally fixed it up and got it working under USB on Win10, and realized how many pitfalls I hit along the way.

Is there any local compendium of collected knowledge to help new people like myself avoid making the same mistakes others before them have? From little things like configuring keys on Mach3, to which breakout boards do and don't work, to where to get local supplies and suggestions?

So I was wondering if anyone had compiled all of this into a FAQ somewhere to give people a head start when building their first CNC machine.

    Thanks
    David.

    Hi Dave,
I am not aware of 'one' source of knowledge....but there are several that I know of.
There is a Wiki on CNC Zone. That might help. There's also a 'Chinese CNC Router' Forum. This forum is good for Aussie specific info.
There's ALOT of info here...one just has to find it. You can use the search function or if none of that works, just post your specific question in the appropriate forum
and, no doubt, someone has had the same problem and found a fix.

Sorry, I can't be more specific.....Others may be able to.?

Where are you located? There may be others close by that may be able to lend a hand.
    Have fun....

    Steve
