Hi thank you for your reply I may need to revert back to older version if I cant get information...many thanks though

Hiya Stroheim, Yep , solder the jumpers. Nicholai 67 is better than the Oil Major's, if that's what U mean, cos it is the same format as the Mega.(physical shape).
The hand encoder is wired to the relevant plug/socket on the board, the Spindle encoder is wired to the input U referred to, the links soldered will transfer the quadrature signals to the Arduino Mega.
Hi thank you for replying. I have built the system but I have no LCD readout and several functions don't work. I have double checked all my wiring and seems ok. I suspect its because i am using the standard prototype board see pic and I should be using the Nicholai 67 board and I need to source one of them
Hiya Stroheim,
technically it shouldn't matter which breakout board is used, but the Nicholai 67 breakout adapter makes it fairly fool-proof.
And, U get the luxury job of crimping all those JST pins onto your loom wires! The appropriate too is required for that.
Without seeing exactly what U have done its hard to advise..
JLCPCB.COM in china can make the Nicholai 67 cheaply, but bear in mind those JST's. Of course U could simply sider the wires directly to the PCB
just "reorder " from my attached file reference- should work.
Cheers, stay safe.
Could someone be kind enough to post the Nicholai 67 breakout adapter gerbers please? I tried downloading them from the chipmaker.ru site, but had no luck.
Thanks!
Hiya Jazz,
After a bit of file searching i found em.
cheers,
Qtronpowerson.
note: This forum wont upload RAR files!
i got mine made by JLCPCB, China.
I have a spare if U like
