Hey Gang. I'm drilling out some 1.25 tool steel with a .5" drill and I've smoked 2 HSS drills so far. We're getting a cobalt drill and some more HSS but I was curious what feed/rpm/peck range I should be in.

Try a High Performance Carbide 3 Flute 150Point Drill, No Peck;)

like Toby said "carbide"
they cost more but if your drilling a fair number of holes then they are worth the expense in time saved alone ,
D2 work hardens nasty and trying to send a new hss or cobalt drill down a hole where another burned out can be a real pain
