I have set up my machine using the C10 board and the 4030 drivers with Mach 3. I can get the motors to turn just fine but only in one direction! I've checked and doubled-checked the wiring and the Mach 3 settings but I must be missing something. Can anyone help?

I think you need to check that there is sufficient voltage change (ideally 0 to 5V) on each axis direction pin and that you have them configured correctly within Mach.

I found the dir setting in Mach was set to 0 instead of 1. Changing this corrected the problem on 2 of the axes but my y will still only move forward.
Any ideas?

The direction pin assignment should be different for each axis.

Thank you Tweakie, I'll try that.

Well, it turned out to be a bad parallel port. I downloaded a free port monitor utility and could plainly see that the direction pin in question was not firing. I tried another computer and it worked just fine.
