We have a Butler Elgamill 3 axis CNC milling machine with TNC 151 Heidenhain controls. The machine is working satisfactorily. We want to add a 2 axis tilting/rotary CNC rotary table to this to give simultaneous 5 axis capability.
We understand that TNC 151 does not support 5 axis simultaneous controls.
1. How is this to be done?
2. Is it feasible to install another controller? Mach 3?
3. Can that be done without having to change the other hardware items?
4. If any other items need change, what is the minimum changes needed?
5. The servo motors, drives, encoders, etc for the 2 axis rotary table are yet to be chosen, so we are referring to the hardware of the machine.
Eagerly await advise.
