I have a 3" x 3" x 0.25" mild steel square tube. I want to make 30 and 60 degree angle cuts on this piece of metal. What is the best method to draw an angled line. The line should be accurate in terms of angle and repeatibility. I need to get the angles right and be able to do this on multiple pieces of square tube. Is there a hardware tool that I can buy at Home Depot or a local hardware store that will help me do this accurately?

Thanks,

A good protractor will do the trick, you can then cut sample cuts, verify with protractor until near perfect and have at it.

If you have access to a good 12-14" cut off saw, that would work great.

Your problem will not be in the cutting but in the welding.
