Dear all,
Do anyone knows how to make a keyway pass on the figure shown below if z-axis is normal to the flat face. It is easy if the side is flipped but I just wanna do it in one setup.

Thanks

Use a Tee Slot cutter or a Woodruff cutter.

But how to program it in surfcam when z is on the top

I was just suggesting the cutter to use. :)

Surely you could 'fake' it. You should have no problem programming for an end mill to machine a step along the side. Treat the slotting cutter in a similar manner; if it was an end mill it would make a step down to the bottom edge of your keyway but because the cut does not extend all the way up the shank it is making a slot. The one thing you would have to be sure of is that it was moved away from the material before going down in Z and similarly moved away before retracting Z.

I found the solution.
Go to 2-axis countor and on cutting method select On and change leadin and leadout move.

Thanks all.
