I recived my new Industrial Hobbies machine a while ago, but I now want to start doing some milling. My local shop has only AGIP oil. Which AGIP oil should I use on my milling machine?

Is it cutting/coolant oil you are after? As they don't appear to supply waylube oil.
If coolant, probally depends somewhat on the material you are machining.

Sorry, I ment oil for the transmission head. Isn`t there any oil from AGIP I can use? I`ve found a supplier that can sell me Pennzoil. Witch oil from Pennzoil can I use?

If you can't/won't follow the OEM recommendations, there may be an alternative.

At the risk of starting a food fight which was documentied previously in a Tormach 4th axis lube thread, you can TRY Dexron III..

The use of Dexron is not unparalled as it is currently spec'd for use in car transmissions (even Nascar) as well as Excello vertical mill gear boxes. Either of these is at least as severe a service environment as your machine so it should work and work well.

Dexron III is formulated for high and low loads, high and low speeds, and it also has EP additives which are necessary for gear mes lubrication. As the like above OEM link states, lubrication is an inexact science. Dexron III is a reasonable compromise

As an alternative to purchasing the oil locally since your selection seems somewhat limited you may purchase the oli you need online. I have bought oil many times as well as coolant from Enco. www.use-enco.com

Since I want to use only one oil on the transmission head (with various speeds), I think I will go for the Dextron III oil.

What kind of oil are you using on your machine? Anyone using Dextron III oil?

I used the oil reccomended on the site cause if it failed I wanted to be in compliance. I got it fron enco and it runs great. although I am sure the transmission oil would probably work.

Okey, but do you switch oil when you shall run the machine att higher/lower rpm?? I want one oil for whole rpm range...
