For the newbies out they please post a break down of how much your CNC wood router machine cost you to build. Post the cutting area and the type of control (servo, stepper) and software. Also how many hours it took to complete it.

Total Cost: $4000 Hardware
Cutting Area: 4'x8'x10"
Servo Motors: 3 motors at 1500 ozin peak, nema 42
Controller: 3 x Rutex Controllers with motherboard and IO card.
Frame: Aluminum T-Slots
Linear Bearings: THK Rails on all three axis.
Actuators: 2 ball screws, 1 rack-and-pinion
Hour to complete: One Year
Plans: My own design
Software: Rhino 3D, Visual Mill, Mach2

Actually, I'm just finishing mine, but I finally got all the parts. Add another $500 for tools, and another $500 in mistakes. If I had used plans I could have done it in 3 months at a slightly higher price. I spent much of my time just gathering parts on ebay at the "right price". I'll post a web page about it when I done (this month).
